Decision gets you started, consistency gets you results!

At some point in most people’s life they make the decision they are going to get “back in shape” or “lose weight” and they mean it.

They sign up for the gym, (not at the moment ?) they are committed and determined to do it.

Day 1 they get up, head to the gym, do their 45 mins and feel good about it.

Day 2 they are feeling a bit sore from yesterday’s workout as they haven’t worked out in like forever. They take a bit longer to get out of bed and hit the rush hour traffic on the way to the gym. So there workout is a bit rushed. They are frustrated.

Day 3 they have a work meeting early in the morning so can’t make it to the gym, so they decide to go in the evening after work. But work is pretty busy and they work later than planned, so miss the gym, saying they’ll go tomorrow. “One day missed is ok.”

Day 4 – feeling tired from working out and working late. So tell themselves they will go in the evening instead. They make it to the gym but it’s packed. There is no equipment available so it’s a crappy workout.

Day 5 – it’s Friday, it’s the weekend! Screw the gym I’ll go on Monday.

Day 6 – Monday morning – that was a good weekend but damn I’m tired and not feeling too great. I think I’ll skip the gym today.

Day 7 – 365 days later…. I’m going to get fit this year……

Sound familiar?

Yep I know, I’ve been there, I was a chronic stop starter at the gym. Never getting any results. I’d blame the traffic, feeling tired, I’d start next Monday. All excuses!

I had to make a change, something I would commit too and be consistent with.

That’s when I found Beachbody and home workouts and having an accountability group that would hold me accountable to showing up everyday, no matter what.

Home workouts meant I had no excuses I couldn’t blame the heavy traffic on the way to the gym, I couldn’t blame not having enough time to make it the gym as I literally only had to climb out of bed to hit the gym floor! No excuses of feeling tired and lethargic as I had Beachbody’s secret weapons. Energise and Recover!

Having an accountability group meant I had to show up, I couldn’t make excuses not to go, otherwise I would be letting everyone else down.

The result 3 years later, I’ve not missed a workout, I’ve lost over 2.5 stone in weight. Have more energy than ever before and now love helping others create the same results.
