How I’m testing the theory – abs are made in the kitchen

They say abs are made in the kitchen. I’m putting it to the test!

Nutrition has always been my weakness, I’m a secret snacker! One of the reasons I’m doing #75hardchallenge and the ultimate portion fix alongside is because it doesn’t allow for cheat meals for 75 days. I want to prove to myself I can do it and build a better habit.

To help with the challenge and get on top of my nutrition, I’ve removed all snacks from the house to remove any temptation. I’m also ordering all my food for delivery (or picking it from the garden) so I don’t get tempted in the supermarket to buy snacks and junk food.

I’ve also made the commitment public in my challenge and accountability group so I have to stick to it. It’s too easy to let your guard down and make poor decisions in a split second. I’ve always been a bit of an emotional eater, when things have been going wrong in life or business I used to turn to junk food or take away’s as a form of escape. So making a public commitment it’s an extra level of accountability to stay on track. It’s harder to lie to other people than it is to lie to yourself. You can always justify something to yourself but not to others.

I’m also following a really simple meal plan, that isn’t restrictive. I can still eat carbs, protein and all the other food groups. In fact I have to eat a certain amount of each food group everyday. In doing so I’ve lost on average 2lbs a week for 5 weeks, I’ve not felt tired, I haven’t craved any foods and I’ve been pretty energised even working out twice a day.

Drinking a lot of water and having my superfood shake everyday has helped too. I used to feel hungry a lot, I’ve learnt on this journey that often you aren’t hungry but are thirsty. Also our daily diet doesn’t give us all the nutrients our body needs to thrive. By taking superfoods in my shakeology everyday im plugging the gaps in my nutrition, which has eliminated the cravings for sugar and sweet things.

Today is day 33 of #75hard and I’ve been on track with my nutrition the whole time. I think this is a record for me! Almost at the half way point. Looking forward to the results in another 6 weeks. At this rate I’ll be living proof that Abs are made in the kitchen ????
